Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The tip of my penis/urethra has a burning sensation, particularly when I urinate.I feel like I need to urinate frequently--sometimes with a low volume of urine. Are these signs of a urinary tract infection? If so, how should I treat it? If not, what else might it be.
Hello thank you for writing us here. You're right these are signs of urinary tract infection. Burning micturation, increased frequency, urgency and sometimes low grade fever is also seen in UTI. You just need to get a course of antibiotics. 3 day course of Cotrimoxazole would help you. On first 2 days you have to take 2 tablets each day and on the last day just one tablet and also make sure you drink plenty of water. You'll be alright after the course.
Best regards, Dr Gunjan
