Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation In Throat And Chest Tightness After Inhaling Bleach Fumes?
Hi, I was cleaning with bleach and all purpose cleaner in a poorly ventilated room and think I inhaled the fumes. Later in the day I had burning in the throat and a tight chest. Although this has now eased slightly I am constantly feeling lightheaded and dizzy 6 days later. Worried that I could have done some serious damage.
I think if the symptoms have persisted for 6 days, then, should seek medical help. Perhaps you've not cleaned your airways and not get enough fresh air properly.
In such cases, we do usually do recommend to: - breathe fresh air - keep the rooms well ventilated - take plenty of water during the day - rinse the nose, mouth and throat well with thorough water - take a glass of milk as antidote
Better check it out with your doctor to rule out bad irritation of airways.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
