What Causes Burning Sensation In Urethra After Recovering From UTI?
Hello, a few months ago I was diagnosed with a UTI and was treated for it. I was re-tested after my antibiotics treatment and the UTI was gone but I still had a constant burning sensation in the urethra area. Now months later I still have a burning sensation in that area, lasting all day. Some days worst than others. what could this be? Age 48 years old, female.
Burning sensation in urethra can be due to urinary tract infection (UTI). I suggest you to get an urine routine examination and urine culture to look for cause of infection.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
