Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Burning Sensation In Wrist Post Injury?
I broke my distal radius in a fall from a ladder 2 months ago. The cast was removed 2 weeks ago. I am regaining movement and am able to work as a mechanic. The problem is a burning sensation of the skin around the wrist. I can work hard all day but the weight of a sheet brushing on it at night wakes me with a burning pain. Should I give it time or should I see my ortho?
Probably, it is the dryness in the skin because of the cast. Please use some moisturizing lotion to keep the dryness at bay. If there is any skin discoloration then it is a matter of concern.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Suchita Yohan Halli, Emergency Medicine Specialist
