What Causes Burning Sensation Of Skin Inspite Of Taking Gabapentin?

Hi I had was diagnosed with acute transverse myelitis 4 years ago. I am am now 30 years old. No reason was ever found for what brought this on. I tested negative for every type of virus or disease that could have brought this on. I was told I could possibly have MS and that if I experienced another neurological episode at some point in the coming years I would be officially diagnosed with MS. Yesterday I started experiencing the same discomfort and burning sensation on my skin that I felt for several days before landing in the hospital with transverse myelitis the first time. Tonight it is more noticeable. It is on my right buttock and down the back of my thigh. I m concerned and took one pill of Gabapentin that my neurologist prescribed for an emergency. I have not seen a neurologist in the last few years and have not experienced any new nerve issues other than the permanent slight nerve damage from the first episode. I am wondering if I should go straight to an ER or if it is safe to see a neurologist tomorrow or Friday. I do not have a current neurologist or doctor but do have insurance. Thank you for any advice you can give me.Rachel
