General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and thank you for your question.
Burning sensations are often from nerve irritation. You may have a branch of your trigeminal nerve (nerve in face) that is inflamed. If you now are feeling a lump, it can be that the lump is pressing on a nerve causing the sensation. See a doctor to evaluate the lump and to suggest treatment for the nerve pain.
