What Causes Burning Sensation On The Ears And Neck After Taking Medrol?

Hi. I was just given Medrol dose pack to reduce inflammation post surgery (scapholunate reconstruction in late Dec., pins removed mid-March. Have very limited range of motion; dr is hoping to increase ROM by reducing inflammation.) I took 6 pills yesterday and woke up today with my face, ears, neck, and scalp on fire. Hot, red, tight, burning sensation. I took my 5 pills throughout the day today and now my lips and eyes are also burning. My dr is out of the office until Tuesday. If I keep taking the Medrol tomorrow, will symptoms get worse? Is this normal and I shouldn t worry about the flushing/burning?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction of Medrol. I suggest you to stop using the medications. I also suggest you to use anti histamines daily to relief the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
