What Causes Burning Sensation On Wound Site After Applying Soframycin?

Hi, I fell from my bike and had minor road rashes above my knuckles, hand and behind shoulder. Doctor prescribed me neospirin, but I remember I had allergy from neospirin powder. Doctor recommended me soframycin. Whenever I apply soframycin, I get slight burning sensation and surrounding area turns reddish. Should I continue applying soframycin ?

Hello,

Soframycin can cause skin irritation. You can try alternatives like mupirocin which is available as over the counter.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
