What Causes Burning Sensation Post Blood Donation Using ALYX System?
I just gave a double unit of red blood cells using the ALYX system (returns saline and plasma back to your body). When the phlebotomist took the needle out, I felt a very sharp burning pain throughout my arm. There is no bruising and I have donated before (6 gallons) but never felt anything like this. It has been an hour and it still burns. Should I be concerned?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, such burning pain at the sight of needle puncture of vein at the time of blood donation could be due to trauma a very mild kind of trauma to micro tissue may involves nerve ending but it is nothing to worry at all hope this information helps.
