What Causes Burning Sensation Under Tongue And Difficulty In Eating Food?
I have a small "flap" under my tongue. It burns when it is moved and it is making it difficult to eat along with making any movement of my tongue difficult. It is a small round flap that has a white tint to it. I have had it for about 5 days now. Any thoughts as to what it is and how I get rid of it?
Thanks for your query. The symptoms you mention in your query are pointing towards a condition known as thrush ,which is a fungal infection caused due to taking antibiotics, dry mouth and weak immune system .
I would suggest you to consult dentist/oral surgeon for proper examination and to rule out the conditions like leukoplakia and plica fimbrata .Doctor may prescribe oral anti fungal medicine for 10-14 days or sometimes amphotericin B.Doctor may also recommend surgical removal in case of leukoplakia (after biopay report) and plica fimbrata .
For now what you can do is practice good oral hygiene ,do warm saline rinses 3-4 times a day
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
