What Causes Burning Sensation While Urinating After Intercourse?

I recently had unprotected sex (Im Female). We were both tested so no STDs or STIs are involved. After sex, its been a day, I noticed burning and pain when I pee. I also say a little bit of blood. I have had this happen before with rough sex, but it went away faster and wasn t as inflamed. Why am I itchy/burning and sore?

Dear user,

I really understand your concern.

Based on your introduction, being negative for STD is a good thing, but I think you have urinary tract infection (not from STD).

After sexual intercourse is advisable to urinate, this may prevents form urinary tract infections.

You may feel itchy and sore after rough sex, due to genital rubbings.

For your urinary tract infection I would prescribe Bactrim 960mg one tablet twice daily for 3 to 5 days, Pyridium 100 mg three times daily for 1 to 2 days and drink cranberry tea.

All the best.
