What Causes Burnt Marks On The Legs And Arms Of A Child?

My son has some marks on his legs and arms that look like cigarette burns - they aren t. He s been crawling in grass with army cadets I ve been to the chemist and the pharmacist says insect bites Never seen an insect bite like this. What insect would leave marks like this?

The presence of marks similar to those of cigarette burns should prompt a check with a doctor. Child abuse needs to be ruled out in this case. Even though you may not be aware of any such abuse on the child, it is important to rule it out, especially if other people are involved as well in the care for the child.
The doctor will be able to differentiate between cigarette burn scars and insect bites and give you the right recommendations.
