What Causes Car Sickness?

I have been driving for 6 years and have carsickness only when I m riding with people I don t know very well. Recently though, in the past week, I ve realized I m starting to get car sick when I drive. I thought maybe I was pregnant but I m not. What else would be the cause of it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Motion sickness can be due to metabolic causes but positional vertigo needs to be ruled out after otolaryngologist review and neurological examination for cerebellar ataxia should also be ruled out.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
