Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have celiac and I just had an EGD done, my doctor stopped the procedure and said I had food in my stomach and my esoplogus, I work in a bakery and that morning I had been working with a lot of flour, and hadn t eaten anything since the day before could the airborne gluten have caused this?
If the endoscopic examination has been done within 6 hours of your haveng taken food, doctor will find food in the stomach. If you have not eaten since the day before, then food in the stomach could be due to an obstruction, which the Gastroenterologist will be able to diagnose during the upper GI endoscopy. Airborne gluten could not have caused this.
