What Causes Cellulitis On The Face During Pregnancy?

My daughter is 23 weeks pregnant and says she has cellulitis in her face. Her husband just said that they did tests and she has it in her blood and the baby is not ok. They sent her home and she is now sleeping and has to go back tomorrow for more tests and possibly terminate the pregnancy. Can cellulitis cause you to have to terminate?

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

This is pretty rare scenario and face cellulitis is rare disease which may be very serious however. If there was some bite or injury in face then it may be the cause ,but if not, then it may be consequence of blood poisoning. This may affect pregnancy only if there is systemic infection and sepsis which is advanced stage of cellulitis Also, if this is so serious to case termination then she should be in hospital and recievee intravenous antibiotics. I believe, that there should be anyway some other cause of treathened pregnancy and abortion risk and it should be discussd with gynaecologist.
