What Causes Change In The Menstrual Cycle And Menstrual Bleeding After Intercourse?

Hi, I have a question that has been causing a lot of worry and stress for me. I had sex with a condom around the first of May, although I was not on the pill. After that,my period came a week early, although it was regular (heavy, lasting about five days) my next period, however, was a week late, very very light, and lasted about seven or eight days. I have been under a lot of stress this past month but the lightness and length of this last period really scares me. Is it possible that I may be pregnant? Should I take a pregnancy test? Thank you for your time, an answer is much appreciated!

Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of a hormone imbalance. I think that there are really low chances of a possible pregnancy. Nevertheless, I recommend performing a rapid pregnancy test.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
