What Causes Change In The Odor Of The Stool And Urine?

Hello doctor! My urine and motion have different odor for the past 1 week. I am not having any irritation when passing. I am consuming eggs and chicken regularly for the past two months. Is this a cause? Is the odor indicating any disease in my body? Please help me!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There are many medical conditions that can cause change in the odor of the stool and urine.

Certain medications and vitamin supplements can cause changes in urine odor but these changes are harmless and should only be temporary.

I suggest to do a stool test and a urine test to exclude any possible infection which needs treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
