Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been having chest pain, left side only, off and on today. Was walking up an incline and it got worse than any other time today. Went away when I stopped. Now the pain is in my back. Also, just drank some cold water and had stabbing pain in my chest that lasted 10 seconds.
I think the pain you felt on left side is costo-chondrial. Take OTC ant-algesic like ibuprofen and see if the pain will subside. Plus, the stabbing pain in your chest after drinking cold water is due to esophageal spasms (abnormal contractions of esophagus muscles). PPIs or antacid medications can help with that.
If still no improvement, should consult with cardiologist. Of if the pain will get worse, should go to ER.
All the best. Dr.Albana Sejdini
