What Causes Chest Congestion And Blood In Saliva?

i felt like there was a lot of saliva on my chest as i was sleeping when , when i tried to spit it out i spit blood as well.prior to that i had gone through some stressing issues could this be the cause or i forced too hard to let the saliva from the chest come out .

There may be infection of the chest (Bronchitis). Blood in sputum isn't a good sign to let it go untested.

I suggest you to go for complete evaluation form a Pulmonologist and get treated accordingly. Forcing just once to get the sputum out doesn't usually cause bleeding.
