What Causes Chest Congestion And Cough After Having Suboxone?
I ve been having chest congestion and some slight coughing, however these symptoms have only began since I ve started a medicine called suboxone and this has persisted for the last three months. Could this be an allergic reaction to Naloxone? The other part of this reaction is that I ve been very irritated and physically drawn in energy.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
* Simvastatin is not a drug for peripheral neuropathy.
It lowers cholesterol levels and is given to lower your fat deposition on the body, which can be due to diabetes and this in turn causes peripheral neuropathy.
* Diabetes, which does not control /long standing diabetes can cause peripheral neuropathy.
*Nerve compression at different levels. Vertebrae, discs, hip/local edema in the feet can cause such symptoms. Exact cause needs to be found by physical examination and needful investigations to be followed by specific medicines are needed. Physiotherapy/physical therapy /dietary management have equal importance as drugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
