What Causes Chest Congestion, Wheezing And Breathlessness?
I am healthy 40yo and was diagnosed with RLL pneumonia 8 weeks ago, given 1 week of levaquin, then albuterol inhaler, then zpak for sinus infection with lung sx never resolving. Had a another chest X-ray last week that was clear but still coughing, congested, wheezing, tightness in my chest and shortness of breath when I do any activity. Was given qvar 6 days ago as well. Now what???
Thznks for your question on HCM. In my opinion you are having post infectious bronchitis. So I advice you to consult pulmonologist and get done pulmonary function test (PFT). This will help in diagnosing bronchitis. The treatment is as follows. 1. Chest physiotherapy. 2. Deep breathing exercise. 3. Meter dose inhalers having long acting beta 2 agonist and inhaled corticosteroids. 4. Antihistamines and anti inflammatory. 5. Drink plenty of fluids. 6. Sometimes low dose oral steroids can also helpful. So, first consult pulmonologist and discuss these things.
