Hello,

See, you are explaining is typical symptoms of aspiration, if food has gone to the windpipe, then you will have a cough and if the food has gone inside, it could have gone into lungs which might have been bursting kind of feeling.

But trust me, a small quantity of aspiration does no problem to lungs at all. Minimal aspiration gets better soon, body immune response fights with it.

So you do not have to worry at all if it gets better. If you have breathing difficulty, then kindly get a chest x-ray done to see for aspiration and if that is also normal, then do not worry at all.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
