Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chest Discomfort And Excessive Burping?
I workout twice a week and fast walk 2 or 3 times a week for about 2 miles and haven t had any medical problems that I am aware of. However, today I have experienced chest discomfort and extended burping. Do these factors possibly indicate a heart problem. I am 82 yrs old and probably in better than average physical condition.
However, the thing we always worry about with chest discomfort, of course, is a heart problem, and sometimes burping can happen with a heart problem as well. Since this appears to be a new symptom for you, I would recommend going to the ER and getting it checked out. While it most likely won't be your heart, I think it would be best to make sure and be able to be treated quickly in case it is your heart.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch,
