Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chest Discomfort While On Anoro Ellipta?
yes ...my Dr. has put me on anoro for my severe emphysema ...but I have notice even the first time I inhaled it I have a cough and a little rattling in my chest . Of course this concerns me ,and I will be contacting her office tomorrow . Should I be concerned ?
By your history and description, possibility of bronchitis is more likely. Emphysema on chest x ray and chest symptoms are more in favor of bronchitis. So get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test). PFT will not only diagnose bronchitis, but it will also tell you about the severity of the disease and treatment is based on severity only.
You may need long acting inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone). Along with inhalers, also do chest physiotherapy and deep breathing. Smoking cessation if you are active smoker is also very essential.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar,
Pulmonologist
