Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, this morning I woke up had a shower and on my way to work I drank some cold water and instant felt chest pain for about 10 seconds. This was the first thing I had drank/ate since the night before. Don t think it s anything serious but would like to know what could cause this. Thanks
I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing. As a physician, I would like to tell you that there is nothing to worry about it, as it might be nothing. Usually, if you take a big gulp that too of cold water, it may cause streching of your oesophagus leading to symptoms you are describing.
I would also like to tell you that, if you continue to experience these symptoms, even after some days, you should go and see you doctor for further evaluation and checkup. Thanks for trusting and posting your query on this forum.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Abhijeet
