Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Occasionally when eating rice I will get a pain in the center of my chest almost feels like my esophagus has collapsed (though I doubt that it actually is) normally it will pass after a few seconds. Last night is was practically unbearable and caused me to bring up my rice (and only the rice everything else I ate previously did not reappear). It did not feel like it came up from my stomach. Instantly after the pain was gone. This ONLY happens when I eat rice and doesn t seem to matter what kind but it does occur more frequently with white rice.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have chest pain after eating rice. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to acid reflux . I would suggest you to take light walk after every meal , take antacid after every meal and eat at least one hour before going to bed . Also avoid eating rice , spicy or heavy food at night . Consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe H2 blockers , proton pump inhibitor along with antacid .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
