What Causes Chest Pain After Eating Rice?

Once every few months or so I will eat rice and immediately have severe pain in my chest/diaphragm area and it does not go away until I throw up the rice. It is not digested at all when it comes up. I am 25 years old, slightly overweight, but typically don t experience anything other than mild/moderate heartburn occasionally.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

That is because of stomach issues. Get upper endoscopy run together with abdominal ultrasound to rule out stomach ulcer or gallbladder problems.

Take antacids and enzyme digest to help food digestion. Try to lose weight.

Avoid spicy, oily, fried foods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
