Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Having chest pain after sex/ejaculation. Have had EKG, echo stress, nuclear stress test. The next step is to get a CT. They want me to take 100 mg metoprolol The night before and the morning of to slow my heart down. I don t want to do that, don t like the idea of slowing my heart down when i m having chest pain on and off. Is this OK? Pain starts about two hours after ejaculation, and sometimes can last up to two days. The pain is like a pressure or emptiness. Any idea what could be causing The chest pain ?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. No need to worry for heart diseases as your all cardiac reports are normal. Chest pain, tachycardia (rapid heart rate) and chest pressure are commonly seen with anxiety and panic disorder. So better to consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution. You may need anxiolytic drugs too.. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
