What Causes Chest Pain After Insertion Of A Cardiac Stent?

Someone I know has been inserted a stent three months back. for the past two weeks he felt pain in his chest or the place where the stent is. Yesterday he had the treadmill test and the result showed fatigue. What does this mean?? One more thing to consider is that before the day he was admitted to the hospital he had the mildest attack. He soon had his TNT. So, the fatigue couldn t be due to a damage in the heart muscle now could it??

Hi,

You have to recheck for stent restenosis by undergoing a coronary angiogram or scintigraphy. Other possibilities like muscle pain or non cardiac chest pain have to be ruled out. Just see sublingual nitroglycerin is relieving your pain or not if symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
