What Causes Chest Pain After Insertion Of Stent?

Had a stent inserted 6 weeks ago because I was experiencing chest pain when I sleep on my left side.I still get these pains as soon as I my sleep turns me to my left side. I went for another cath and was told I had a small blocked vein or artery that would be treated with medication. I was also given amyl nitrate + Imdor. These help with the pain but why do I get the same symptoms before I had the Stent operation? I am 83 year old non smoker but usually have a highball before dinner or a glass of wine.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Perhaps the stent itself if it is a short time ago. If it feels like a heart attack, you should go to the ER.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
