What Causes Chest Pain After Swallowing Excessively Hot Food?
Hi I swollowed something really hot the other day it hasn t hurt my throat or mouth but the pain in my chest is becoming unbearable even just to breathe in and out and swollowed saliva, this happened on Wednesday and it s felt the worse today and last night. What can I do as the pain is becoming unbearable.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain it seems that the hot food has burnt the mucosal lining of the food pipe leading to inflammation and it is the cause of burning sensation and pain in the food pipe and you experience it as chest pain. Nothing to worry as gradually when the inflammation will subside you will get better.. You can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, drink plenty of cold water and take a soft diet.. You should completely avoid hot and spicy food as well as carbonated drinks as they can cause further irritation and cause pain.. If pain is very severe you can take Tramadol that is a higher painkiller and will relieve severe pain...
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
