What Causes Chest Pain After Taking Haloperidol Injection?

My 32 year old son is being given injections of Haledol for a Psychosis he has been in for over 2 weeks. He is in a Mental Health Hospital. He is complaining that his chest hurts. His heart is racing. I m told when they ck his blood pressure & heart rate they appear normal. Why would he be experiencing the continued chest pain?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have chest pain after taking Haloperidol injection. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to Haloperidol injection as its side effects . This injection is known to cause chest discomfort , chest pain and disturb heart beat . I would suggest you to consult doctor and discuss the condition with him . Doctor may prescribe sedative , analgesic or anti arrhythmic drugs . Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist for heart problem like heart failure or angina .
