What Causes Chest Pain After Taking Levothyroxine For Thyroidectomy?
Had throidectomy 2 years ago no complications, all is well with that . Taling levothroxine 200mg. Have been getting chest pains that last a few minutes to about 25 minutes.Occur in the AM and PM and at in the first 5 to 10 minutes of working out.I had complete cardiac work-up( stress test , EKG, Xray ) and it was determined the pains were not cardiac related. I have slightly elevated BP (take medications) which I have been told could account for the chest pains. Am I missing something here? My cardiologost keeps changing the meds to see if that is the problem but it does not seem to make much of a difference.
Thyroid abnormalities can cause some amount of heartburn but not necessarily chest pain. Has your doctor ruled out all possible gastric causes? Because the first thing to be suspected when experiencing non-cardiac chest pain is a gastric abnormality (e.g. acid reflux). Please speak to your doctor about the same.
Best wishes
