What Causes Chest Pain After Undergoing Thoracotomy?
Hi I had a throacotomy about 2 and a half months ago. I had Empyema and a collapsed lung. I have chest pains from time to time and pain in where numbness used to be. Is this normal? I am afraid to go to sleep at night thinking something major will happen to me.
After thoracotomy the pain in chest and upper part of abdomen on affected side is common. It is due to damage to the nerve between two ribs. It takes 6 -12 months to completely get relieved of this pain.
