What Causes Chest Pain Along With Rapid Heart Rate And Dizziness?
I exercise regularly on an elliptical trainer with a pulse monitor. I am 69 years old. I interval train for 30 minutes. 3 minutes fast 1 minute slow My pulse gradually increases over the 30 minutes to just below 150bpm. It drops down in my slow interval. Once I stop my heart rate drops pretty quickly to 100. My resting rate is 60bpm. Tonight for the first time I experienced a high rate 195bpm AFTER I got off the trainer. It took a half hour for this high pulse rate to come down. I had no other symptoms such as chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath. Is this experience worrisome. Should I be checked by my cardiologist ?
The long period of time to get reversal of high pulse rate may be indicative of some sort of cardiac conduction defect or disturbances pausing issue. Though there is no dizziness, chest pain, short breath or other symptoms, I do recommend cardiologist evaluation with EKG and exercises stress test for finding any sort of exertion inducible ischemia of the coronary circulation pathway.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
