What Causes Chest Pain And A Lump Around The Nipple?

My 9 year old daughter has recently ( in last 2 weeks) started experiencing pain in her left chest area that she describes as a burning pain. When palpated, I can feel a noteable lump around the nipple area. she states the pain moves to the right chest then eventually around the side and to the back. She is also complaining of numbness to the area. This pain is sporatic in nature. Could this be puberty pains? This may be just coincidence but at the time this started she had recently started a double dose of her ADHD medicine. Meditate CD 10mg cap (2) daily. Once this pain started I backed her down to one capsule daily but this had no influence on the pain. When the pain comes on it sounds like it may pulsate. Her heart rate is 112 bpm

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It’s quite common and is seen in young girls. It may be due to development of breast bud and nothing to worry about it.

She can take analgesics like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
