What Causes Chest Pain And Breathing Problem?

Hi, i'm 22yrs old. The past years, I used to have chest pains every month until 2years ago when I had breathing problems and went to the ER. The doctors gave me all types of tests but they didnt find anything. Until today, I get shorten of breath and it got worst when I start taking advaire and inhaler. Some say it's asthma because my mom has it and when I was born I had a heart problem. I also get tired easily, 4years ago I was in great shape.

Hello
Thanks for your query.
Even after getting inhalers your shortness of breath is getting worse. That may be due to vocal cord dysfunction syndrome which has asthma like presentation and the diagnosis of which is to be established by laryngoscopy during an attack of breathing problems and you also should undergo a spirometry test. Even if it is astham, you need to exclude underlying co-morbidities like GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disorders). You should consult a good pulmonologist and get yourself thoroughly examined.
Thank you.
