What Causes Chest Pain And Dizziness After Vomiting While Having Acid Reflux?
I am 39 years old and for the last year I have had issues with acid reflux which I ve been takiing the purple pill BUT over the last couple of weeks I ve been having chest pain while vomiting up food and rapid heartbeats during and after vomiting. I have also been dizzy throughout the day along with a constant dull weight bearing pain in my upper left chest. I currently do not have insurance so I don t want to waste time in ER if I need to just try a differet over the counter medicine. What do you suggest
Acid reflux itself can cause chest pain as it irritates the Esophagus and presents as chest pain. Also the rapid heart rate before and after vomiting is normal accompanying features of vomiting. However if you have dizziness and weakness you might be dehydrated and/or could have low potassium. This can be corrected by drinking plenty of oral fluids, oral rehydration solutions . However never ignore chest pain. Especially left sided pain. Get an ecg at least to rule out any heart issue. for the acid reflux you can try Proton Pump Inhibitors like Esomeprazole 40 mg once in the morning on an empty stomach for about a week. Along with this Domperidone 30 mg once a day to improve reflux symptoms.
