What Causes Chest Pain And Excessive Belching?

I have had chest pain (upper left side behind my left breast) and belching for the last 12 hours. Belching does not seem to relieve the discomfort. I have taken pepto bismol ( 2 doses since 6pm) and a prilosec at 7:30pm. It is 9:30pm now. I think it is just indigestion but it concerns me because the discomfort is not dissipating.
