Hello,
You have history of being type 2 diabetic. You are on statins and insulin. Presently, you are experiencing
chest pain and painful
leg cramps. One of the most common complaints of people taking statins is
muscle pain. This pain can be felt as soreness, tiredness or weakness in your muscles. Left untreated the pain can be mild discomfort but it may get severe enough to make your daily activities difficult.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Cardiologist. Get all cardiac function tests, lipid function tests, echo, EKG,
stress test, X-ray, done at the earliest. You will be treated accordingly. Control your blood glucose level at all cost. If obese, control your weight. Stay away from addictions if any. Do regular walking and switch to healthy eating habits. Avoid
trans fat, full fat dairy milk, red meat, oily / junk food, etc. Take home made boiled food with a dash of olive oil for a couple of days. Take plenty of fruits, veggies and berries. Well cooked whole cereals. Take adequate water and quality sleep.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
