What Causes Chest Pain And Palpitations?

Hi, I am a 51 yr old female, never smoked, occasional glass of wine, hypothyroidism x15 yrs, on 120mg 0f Armor thyroid. As of last two weeks, in the evenings in bed, I have been having some worrisome symptoms that wake me up. A mild pain in my chest that stabs back to my shoulder blades and is extremely uncomfortable, very cold feet and hands, a sense of my heart racing (but its never over 80), a sensation that I cannot catch my breath, that my throat is constricting. I have always had low blood pressure, average 110/68, and a low pulse rate, average of 62. For the last three days I have been charting my BP and pulse 3 x s a day and my blood pressure is above average, as high as 135/88, even during mid day. My Dr. thinks it s benigh PVT s but I pushed to have my thyroid checked again in case the upped dosage is the cause. Could the thyroid medicine cause these symptoms or should I seek a more in depth check up? I have wore a monitor in years past for 24 hrs and had an acho a tear ago that were all within range. (I was having neck pain with a hard/painful heartbeat) Lisa

Hello,

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
