Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, my concern is about my friend who had an episode several weeks ago. He had chest pain that radiated up his neck down the jaw. We went to the ER. Well they admitted him and after a stress test, heart catheterization, it was determined slight blockage. But he was given some meds for high blood pressure and cholesterol. My question is he has been experiencing heart palpitations which causes a cough. This doesn t happen a lot but it is concerning me because he gets these even when he is just sitting in a chair.
I'd like to know the age of your friend. Your description is typically suggestive of Paroxysmal Nocturnal Dyspnea and Orthopnea. He is having grade 4 Dyspnea according to NYHC. He might be in the state of congestive heart failure. Kindly go through your doctor for further management.
