What Causes Chest Pain And Purple Bruise On Upper Right Thigh?

I have developed a spotted purple bruise on my upper right thigh a few days ago. Just yesterday, I developed a regular circle bruise a couple inches below the spotted purple bruise. I have not bumped into anything or fallen, these bruises have just appeared. I also have noticed some pain in my upper chest area. I don't know if these things could be linked but is there any indication to what it might be? What type of specialist should I see? Thank you in advance for your help. Stefanie

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have chest pain and purple bruise on upper right thigh . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are due to two different things the bruise on the upper thigh can be due to strenuous exercises , bleeding Disorders , blood thinning medications , von willebrand disease , iron deficiency and diabetes . It can also occur due to skin infection like viral or fungal infection . As far as chest pain is concerned it is probably occurring either due to acid reflux or cardiac problem . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist to ruel out more serious problem . Doctor may order ECG , TMT , troponin t test , along with blood tests . Doctor may prescribe isosorbid nitrate , aspirin , betablockers and sedative . For bruise consult dermatologist , who may prescribe corticosteroid cream along with anti viral or anti fungal medicine . For now take proper rest and maintain proper personal hygiene .
