What Causes Chest Pain And Shortness Of Breath While Suffering From DVT?

I had a sever dvt from groin to ankle in 2003 then deleop another clot in 20p9 & again 3 clots in clof rently in September 2017. Recently in the past 2-3 months I have had some Chest pains that come go & today I am half some short of breath not bad (besides it feels like being of Beene) but noticeable I I have contast wheezing. I have a EKG ABOUT 1.5 weeks & it was fine for upcoming surgery! I have been to the ER 3-4 Times with ancient of blood clot & the sent home with no prognosis..I also can’t afford a $200 co payment each time go & am turned around! I am on xarellto for over 5. Is is possible to get a embolism whole on thinner & what should I do. I hate anxiety of living with a clot history!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, a clot can occur with a blood thinner but it is very rare.

The ER may have done blood tests such as d dimer to assess the risk of a clot. With your clot history, this would have likely been done. A scan of the chest to thoroughly rule out a clot, should also be done as well.

I hope this helps.
