Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter is 24 yo. Having chest pain in middle of sternum feeling like a gnawing pain. Shortness of breath, dizziness, heart rate increases from 69 to 120 when she goes from laying to standing. She has tingling in her legs and arms. She is in the ER right now. EKG is normal, lab work is normal, CT scan did not show PE. They say she doesn t have MVP or costochondritis. Anything else??
Chest pain and shortness of breath warrant investigations to rule out heart and lung problems. In the case of your daughter, all the tests and examinations are normal so very likely her symptoms are due to anxiety. Anxiety may cause a variety of symptoms and shortness of breath, chest pain, numbness, and a racing heart are very common complaints.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
