Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have stabbing chest pain in the front and back (under my rib cage) with deep breaths and sometimes at rest, pain and shortness of breath and chest tightness and heaviness with mild exertion and at rest. I have a chronic cough, healthy female 54, non-smoker, and today I noticed I have pain on touching my neck in a specific location on each side of the centre of my throat but more painful on the right, pain is with touching my throat. If I ride my bike I struggle to keep going and I am tired, not myself. What should I do?
Hi i do care for your concern. The symptoms that you describe suggest more of ulcer related pain. However it will be good to have an electrocardiogram done to rule out heart problems. I would advise To consult a chest physician and to do complete workup for chronic cough, as considering your age and shortness of breath there might be restrictive lung disease. The pain in your neck might be due to chronic cough, and hence thorough examination of lung is essential. Hope i have answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask. Thank you.
