Hello. I am writing about a 71 year old healthy woman who was suddenly stricken with pain in her chest, tingling in her arm,and some numbness. It occurred on and off for days. SHe finally went to the emergency room. They did every test, kept her overnight. No heart problem, good blood pressure, no diabetes, no thyroid problem. Everything checked out fine and she was discharged. Never found out what it was. Shortly after that, she thinks she must have been bitten by something when out in the garden. She got a rash, chills, sweats, nausea, exhaustion, malaise, some diarrhea. She has had that for a few weeks, slowly feeling better. Still has rash on upper chest, inside ears, inside nostrils, though it is better. Question:1. Any idea what might be causing the rash and general illness? And 2. Is it related to the pain in her upper chest that sent her to the hospital? 3. Any thoughts on what the pain was caused by? After having been in hospital and nothing was determined, she is reluctant to bother with more dr.s. She called her dr. who took 3 days to call back. So I m hoping a good dr might see the bigger picture whereas the er drs focused right away on the heart and maybe missed what it was. Thank you very much.
