What Causes Chest Pain And Tingling Sensation In The Left Arm?

Hello :) I was seen in the ED today for chest pains and tingling down my left arm. The did am EKG, blood work, and a chest xray. The say the do not see anything showing I m in any immediate danger and for me to follow up with a Cardiologist this week for a stress test. If they released me, saying everything looked good, what else would they be looking for within a stress test? I am still having the chest (stabbing) pains in waves. Not constant pain, but it s painful when it happens. Which is about every 5-10 minutes. I have some center pressure feeling. They gave me something for pain. I just took half a pill to see if that helps ease it some. Something is causing this new pain I m having :( Any thoughts? Thank you so much in advance.

Hello and welcome to CHM.
As per the scenario you described,you had stabbing chest pain but your Chest X ray,blood tests and ECG are normal.May I know your age and other associated medical conditions?
Stress test is required to rule ischemia(reduced blood supply oxygen) to heart muscles on exertion.ECG tests the working of heart muscles at rest many a times not ruling out the ischemia caused on exertion.It is necessary to accompany it with stress tests in picture of the chest pain you are having with tingling sensation in left arm(indicator of ischemic heart disease).
I recommend you to get the stress done at your earliest so that further diagnosis can be established.
