Hi,

Yes, unfortunately, heavy smoking and drinking of alcohol can definitely affect the heart as well as other organs as well.

Smokers have 2 to 4 times the chance of getting coronary heart disease (blockages in the blood vessels of the heart that reduce the blood flow and causes heart attacks or angina) and also a 70% higher death rate from heart disease.

It is possible the chest pain is related to the reduced blood supply to the heart, an EKG would be helpful in assessing heart function.

It would be best to stop smoking and drinking before there is irreversible damage. This can be difficult so you should speak to your doctor about your options.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
