What Causes Chest Pain For A Pregnant Woman And What Kind Of Treatment To Take?

A co-worker who is 11 weeks pregnant is complaining with SOB and left-side chest pain on the left side when lying down; the pain occurs in sync with inhalations and exhalations. It sounds like pleurisy to me. She doesn't have any sign of infection but I think she should see a doctor; she's concerned that they will want to do x-rays that could harm the baby. Not sure what to tell her, do you have any advice?
